Club Captain

I came back to the UK after spending thirty years living in the United Arab Emirates.  My background is in Finance.  I had a 30 year career in a local community Bank in the UAE.  On retiring I headed back to our lovely green fields here in the UK and to be closer to family.

Took up bowling in 2021 after lockdown.  My father had been a short mat bowler and I needed something that would get me out of the house.  I called up a local club in Banbury and was welcomed with open arms - and haven't looked back since.

When a plea came out in 2022 for more volunteers for our indoor club I jumped in and took on the role of Treasurer, and then moved onto the club's secretary roll.  I have now handed that over and taken up the roll of club captain commencing 2026/27 season.

As well as Bowls I play for a lady's league Darts team and I'm a member of our local pub's Domino team.

Bowls is a great sport with a wonderful social side attached. I recommend anyone of any age to give it a go .... you never know, you might get hooked like me.
